Just like my last post, this one will also be about traveling. My family always takes me to the most Mexican places, and one of them is Tapalpa, a Pueblo Mágico (Magic Town). There are many Pueblos Mágicos across Mexico, and each one is unique. Once again, I went there with my family and Philipp, since his family never really took him anywhere. The town was beautiful, and I enjoyed it a lot. After leaving the town, we went to a place where huge boulders are scattered across the ground. Some of them were climbable, and it was amazing to reach a high spot and take in the breathtaking view. The way back was just as fun. My family’s car has a sunroof, so we could stick our bodies through the window and enjoy another incredible view. A few days of my unusual school life passed—since I didn’t understand much and wasn’t really studying—along with visits to aquariums and shopping malls with Philipp. Then, it was time for another adventure. Guadalajara and traveling/cestování

Over the past few months, I’ve traveled a lot in Mexico. My first trip was with Rotary to the orientation meeting near the city of Morelia, which is about a 5-hour drive from Guadalajara. We arrived late in the evening due to traffic jams along the way and stayed in cabins at a resort. There, I met all the new exchange students and made many new international friends. Just a week after this first Rotary trip, I finally started school. My school is quite far from my house, about an hour’s drive, but it’s close to my second host family’s home and located in the city center. The school is large and very different from what I’m used to in the Czech Republic. Everything, except for the classrooms, the administration office, and some hallways, is outdoors. The school also has several snack bars that sell Mexican and other treats. Additionally, the school offers free access to various sports activities, a swimming pool, and a gym. Arrival to Guadalajara/Přílet do Guadalajary

We arrived in Guadalajara early in the morning. A friend picked us up at the airport, and we drove home. I’m staying in a gated residential area, and the only notable things around are highways and a shopping center. It was a bit of a shock at first, but I’m starting to get used to it. When we got home, I had a few hours to rest, and then we headed to a Rotary meeting. It was very formal, and the heat was intense. I met a few people, including my second host family. After returning home, I gave the family some gifts, and we immediately opened the Kofola, which for a moment made me feel like I was back in the Czech Republic. I also taught them how to play the card game "prší," though explaining the rules was quite difficult. In the following days, we hosted a barbecue at our house, where I met friends of my host family, who are also from Costa Rica, and I started to explore the area around my new home and Guadalajara. The arrival/přílet + Ciudad de México

Hello, welcome to my blog, where I will write about my exchange year in Mexico. I departed on 9th August from Prague, from where I flew to Istanbul, where I had my layower. I was unexpectedly mooved to the business class. Thanks to that I had the best flight of my life so far. I arrived to Ciudad de México at 2am, where I got a warm welcome by my host family. While waiting for me, my host parents encountered another host mother from RYE, who was awaiting a girl from germany. From the airport we went straight to Airbnb, where we chit-chat for a while and then we went to sleep. I slept pretty long time despite having a good sleep on the plane. In the late morning we left for Cojoacán, which is famous part of Ciudad de México, where their sacred animal is wolf. We got there by metro, which was only 6 pessos per person(8czk).
